Biography

Alyse Walsh is a six-time Emmy-nominated Director and Executive Producer of documentary films and television series. As a documentarian and journalist she has made films in over 20 countries.

Alyse's feature directorial debut, baby/girls, will make its world premiere at the 2026 SXSW Film & TV Festival. She co-directed the film — which explores teen pregnancy in the post-Roe American South — alongside Jackie Jesko and Latchkey Films.

Alyse was a Showrunner, Executive Producer, and Director for the second season of HOME, produced with A24 Films for Apple TV+. The ten-episode global architecture series was nominated for five Emmy Awards and won two, including for Best Directing team. Also for Apple, Alyse was behind the 'pork' episode of Omnivore, the award-winning food series from noma's René Redzepi, which she produced and made alongside her frequent collaborator and husband, DP Christopher Gill.

She directed two episodes of the Emmy-nominated Netflix science documentary series Connected, hosted by Radiolab's Latif Nasser, which took them to the middle of the Sahara Desert in Chad and deep within the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil. Alyse was also the Supervising Producer on the critically-acclaimed Netflix Documentary Series Diagnosis, a partnership between Scott Rudin, The New York Times and the Oscar-winning studio Lightbox.

She also worked as Supervising Producer on Defying Gravity, a PGA award-winning documentary series about women's gymnastics. Previously, Alyse traveled the world working as a producer for several seasons of the Emmy-winning long-form news series VICE on HBO. During that time, Ascending Afghanistan, a feature film Alyse produced while working in Kabul, went on to win multiple festival awards.

Alyse began her career in journalism at The Daily Beast and Newsweek Magazine, producing the renowned Women in the World Summit alongside esteemed editor and journalist Tina Brown.
